FAQ

Design doesn’t have to feel mysterious or intimidating. Below are answers to the questions I’m asked most often — from how we work together to what to expect along the way. Still curious? Let’s talk.

Services & Processes

  • I’m based in Montclair, NJ and work throughout Northern NJ, NYC, and virtually with clients anywhere.

  • Nope! We can tackle a full space or just a few key pieces. Whatever makes the most sense for your home.

  • Absolutely! We meet on video, review PDF presentations together, and I mail samples when needed.

  • Through clear mood boards, layouts, product picks, and (when needed) renderings. We walk through everything together.

  • In person for local clients, or via PDF + mailed samples for virtual projects.

  • Hourly for design and advisory work, procurement fees for furniture purchases, and flat-fee packages for some services.

  • It covers sourcing, ordering, tracking, delivery coordination, and handling any vendor issues—basically all the behind-the-scenes logistics.

  • Custom/made-to-order pieces are usually non-returnable. Non-custom items depend on the vendor’s policy.

Billing & Policies

  • It depends on what you need. Some services are billed hourly (consultations, layouts, sourcing, advisory work). For furniture purchased through my trade accounts, I charge a designer procurement fee. And for certain services, I offer flat-fee packages.

Once I understand your project, I’ll walk you through the best option so you know exactly what to expect.

  • When I handle furniture sourcing and ordering, the procurement fee covers all the behind-the-scenes work you don’t see, including:

    • Sourcing, revisions, and vendor communication

    • Managing orders

    • Tracking and delivery coordination

    • Handling freight or quality issues

It ensures everything is taken care of properly and saves you hours (and headaches).

  • Custom and made-to-order pieces are generally non-returnable, since they’re created specifically for your project.
For non-custom items, returnability depends on the vendor’s policy — some allow returns with a restocking fee, others don’t. I’ll always let you know the details before you buy anything.

  • Every manufacturer has its own warranty — some are great, some are… less great. When we select pieces, I’ll share all the warranty info so you know exactly what’s covered.
